The Gunners needed to win by two clear goals or a high-scoring margin, to qualify and Arsene Wenger’s men did in fine style.
Chelsea also took off some pressure from manager Jose Mourinho, as they beat his former team FC Porto 2-0 at home, to also enter the knockout stages.
Bayern Munich won 2-0 away at Dinamo Zagreb, Barcelona drew 1-1 with Bayer Leverkusen, while Roma drew 0-0 with BATE Borisov.
In the other matches, Gary Neville lost his first match as Valencia boss, as Lyon beat them 2-0 at the Metsalla and Gent defeated Zenit 2-1.
