VIDEO OF 300-METRE DUBAI HOTEL ENGULFED BY FIRE


A luxury hotel in Dubai, the UAE, was engulfed in a fire in the evening of December 31, 2015. Multiple floors were immediately affected.

The Address hotel is the sixth-tallest building in the city, with 63 floors 302 metres tall. It has about 200 rooms and over 600 apartments. It is located near the world’s tallest skyscraper, the Burj Khalifa.



Local media say the hotel and the nearby Dubai Mall have been evacuated. Pictures have emerged on Twitter showing The Address Downtown Dubai hotel engulfed in flames.

The blaze began on the 20th floor hours before a large fireworks display was set to start from the nearby Burj Khalifa tower, the world's largest building.

It has been reported that one person has died and 14 people have been injured.
