OBJ GRADUATES WITH 5,000 STUDENTS
Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Nigeria’s former president for 8 years will obtain a Master’s degree in Christian Theology from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). This will happen when Chief Obasanjo graduates with 5,000 students next week.
The former president’s Master’s degree is an MA degree from the School of Arts and Social Sciences at the Abeokuta study center of the NOUN. The 2 lecturers who supervised Chief Obasanjo’s project are Prof Isaac Ayegboyin, Head of Department of Religious Studies, University of Ibadan and Dr. Philip Tachin, lecturer in Systemic Theology Department.
Information had it that all efforts to know the topic of the ex-president’s MA thesis failed as he had finished all his paper work in the 2014/2015 academic session.
Chief Obasanjo’s goal of furthering his study up to PhD level is guaranteed as he has a Master’s degree which will make this possible. The former president registered for his MA in Lagos on Tuesday, September 30, 2014. He himself has vowed to proceed to do his PhD.
The convocation programme which is to hold in Abuja next week Friday 15th and Saturday 16th January will have people from all walks of life in attendance. Some important dignitaries who will grace the event include Adamu Adamu, Nigeria’s Minister of Education and officials from the National Universities Commission (NUC) and close friends of Chief Obasanjo.
