#TheHeadies2015: 'EGBON OLAMIDE, IF YOU WANT A CAR, COME AND TAKE' DON JAZZY TELLS OLAMIDE

Serious shade unfolded at the Headies 2015 ceremony between YBNL Nation and Mavin Records. Both labels had their star talents: Lil Kesh (YBNL), Korede Bello and Reekado Banks (both of Mavin Records) nominated in one of the major awards of the night – the Next Rated Act award.

This award was won by Mavin Records artist Reekado Banks who acknowledged that Lil Kesh could have won while he was on stage receiving his award.

The shade unfolded when YBNL singer Adekunle Gold and his record label mates went on stage to receive his award for Best Alternative Song. After Gold gave his thanks, Olamide took the microphone and said:

Adekunle Gold let’s be honest, this award belongs to Lil Kesh, because Lil Kesh is our Next Rated artist Every single was a hit back to back, from ‘Lyrically’ to ‘Shoki’ to ‘Efejoku
he said.

Olamide was the first to fire shots, as he grabbed the mic after Adekunle Gold came out for his award, saying Lil Kesh is their own Next Rated and that Reekado Banks didn’t deserve the award and he used some yoruba swear words too, although he didn’t mention anybody’s name in his speech.

When Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy was giving his speech after he received a Special Recognition Award, he said he had told Korede Bello and Reekado Banks who he referred to as his “children” not to look at the list of nominees when it came out and promised he would buy them cars.
Don Jazzy came out for his own award and responded to Olamide’s speech, uttering statements such as
I don’t like awards, I only came out here to support my children, Egbon Olamide if its the car you want come and take it.
The last statement above struck Olamide’s wrong nerve and he took it personal and went to his twitter accounts to throw insults at Don Jazzy. Read his tweets below:
